Sunday School and Youth Group
There will be no Sunday School on Easter Sunday, April 9.
Everyone is invited to bring bells to ring in celebration of the Resurrection during the service. There will also be two baptisms, with a fun, new way to celebrate our newly baptized members!
The Youth are invited to help hide Easter eggs at 9:30 am for the Easter Egg Hunt following the service. There are plenty of prizes and rewards in exchange for their invaluable help.
Our younger children are invited to take part in our Easter Egg Hunt. Like last year, our children will have the opportunity to share their Easter joy with a charity of their choice. The eggs they find will contain donation slips. They will bring their slips back to put in the basket of the charity of their choice and pick out prizes to take home. We have had some great conversations about charities to support in both Godly Play and Youth Group as we chose who to share our joy with this year.
· Chapel Rock: once again we will support Chapel Rock so as many children (of all ages) can enjoy their wonderful ministry.
· Standing Up to POTS: one of our Youth Group members has a family member with POTS, Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome. It is a disorder of the autonomic nervous system. It affects heart rate, blood vessel dilation, blood pooling, movement of food through the digestive system, and body temperature. Funds will go to research, advocacy, and support.
· Arizona Wildlife Hero: our Godly Play children are very passionate about helping animals, particularly wild animals. The Arizona Game and Fish Department works to protect 800 wildlife species in our state. Funds support efforts to rescue injured animals and provide lifesaving water to wildlife during our ongoing drought.
I look forward to seeing your families as we celebrate the Mystery of Easter! Allelu… oops! Not quite time yet! I can’t wait for us all to say it in a few days!
